The Ohio LIONS Eye Research Foundation has a dedicated fund for research into the causes, treatments and cure of diabetic eye disease - The Bryan fund. If you or a loved one has diabetes, please make sure that they get at least an annual eye exam as their vision may depend on it.
The Ohio LIONS Eye Research Foundation (OLERF) established the Richard "Dick" Neiderhauser award for research into Age-related Macular Degeneration and allied retinal diseases to support research into the treatment and cure of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), one of the leading causes of blindness in adults over 50. The award was named in recognition of Lion Dick's service to the OLERF over 27 years; as Trustee and as Executive Director and General Manager. Lion Dick also has AMD and is slowly losing his sight. The Grove City LIONS evening club secured the first Richard "Dick" Neiderhauser award for club member, Lion Dick, in recognition of his life long commitment to Lionism.
